Bangkok — Best places to visit

I just got back from Bangkok, and honestly, I still can’t get over it! This city is an absolute cocktail of emotions: incredibly ancient temples, streets that glow brighter than a thousand suns, and the food... oh, that street food! It will forever stay in my heart (and maybe on my hips).
But if you ask me what makes Bangkok truly special, I’ll tell you: its views. The city stretches along the majestic Chao Phraya River, and this river is not just a waterway—it’s the main artery and the best viewing platform. A boat ride isn't just a tour; it's a journey through time, where you see the most famous temples and historical buildings from the water, with modern skyscrapers towering right beside them.
And if you need adrenaline and a panorama, climb up to Sky Bar (yes, the one from The Hangover!). The view from there is absolutely mind-blowing, turning the city into a sea of lights. If your soul craves greenery and peace, then Lumpini and Benjakitti Parks are your saviors. Take a stroll there, spot the monitor lizards (yes, they are there!), and enjoy a calm, green view of the noisy metropolis.

🗺️ My Personal Guide: Where to Go for the Best Views and Vibe

Bangkok is a treasure trove of locations, and here is a list I compiled so you don't miss a thing. These are the places where I took my best photos and got the most vivid emotions!
1. Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn)
This is not just a temple; it’s an architectural masterpiece on the west bank of the Chao Phraya. Its tall, porcelain-decorated tower is incredibly beautiful. At night, when its lighting creates a truly magnificent view, you will simply freeze in awe. Be sure to visit it at sunset!
2. The Chao Phraya River
As I said, take a boat! You'll see a multitude of historical temples and palaces right from the water. This is the best way to feel the city's rhythm.
3. Lumpini Park
Huge, well-maintained, and, importantly, free! A great place to escape the hustle and bustle. Here you can run, bike, or just have a picnic amidst exotic plants and amusing animals.
4. Baiyoke Sky Tower
The tallest building! You go up, and the city lies before you like a map. The observation deck rotates, allowing you to quietly enjoy the panoramic view with a cocktail in hand.
5. Wat Phra Kaew (Temple of the Emerald Buddha)
This is arguably the most sacred temple in Thailand. It houses the "Emerald Buddha"—one of the country's greatest treasures. A place of incredible spiritual power and beauty.
6. Chatuchak Weekend Market
If you want a taste of authentic Asian flavor and unique souvenirs—this is the place. It's the largest open-air market. Weekends only! You can find everything here: from antiques and handmade crafts to clothing and, of course, the most delicious food.
7. Asiatique The Riverfront
A wonderful spot for a romantic evening! A riverside shopping and entertainment complex where you can dine, listen to live music, and admire the city lights.

🔑 The Main Travel Hack: How to See EVERYTHING with Minimal Cost!

And now for the most important part! Bangkok is a huge city where traffic jams can steal your precious time, and taxi drivers sometimes like to inflate prices. To avoid this and to tour all these incredible places easily, quickly, and with complete comfort, I used the auto rent service.
